Sambatek provided expertise in Civil Engineering and Surveying for the groundbreaking Gold Line bus service. This service stood out with unique features, offering all-day, seven-day operations that eliminated the need for rigid schedules. To ensure a faster and more efficient ride, passengers could pre-pay, board seamlessly on raised platforms, experience fewer stops through dedicated bus-only lanes, and enjoy buses that communicated with traffic signals for optimized travel. Stations were equipped with enhanced amenities, including NexTrip signs, maps, heat, lighting, bike racks, and advanced security measures for a comfortable waiting experience. Specialized buses with wider aisles, additional doors, and folding seats accommodated diverse passenger needs. The Gold Line, Minnesota's inaugural bus rapid transit (BRT) line, connected St. Paul to Woodbury with a 10-mile route featuring bus-only lanes along Interstate 94, ensuring fast, frequent service in both directions, seven days a week, with 16 stations offering improved features throughout Downtown St. Paul, St. Paul East Side neighborhoods, Maplewood, Landfall/Oakdale, Oakdale, and Woodbury.
