The FedEx Distribution Center resides on a 70-acre, mass-graded site to make room for a 400,000 SF warehouse, maintenance, and office facilities. Site selection for this center included several communities in the northwest Metro Area, and Rogers was chosen for its proximity to Interstate 94, the area workforce, and the economic advantages offered by the city.
Sambatek provided site design, civil engineering, stormwater management, landscape architecture, and surveying.
The site design preserved wooded areas for screening along the Interstate 94 frontage and added berms for screening along Brockton Lane. A detailed stormwater plan was prepared to maintain the quality of adjacent wetland areas and Grass Lake.
The facility required a new public street access to the underdeveloped area and coordination with adjacent developments to approve a regional stormwater solution as part of the Elm Creek Watershed approval.
