Olive & Second Development: A Comprehensive Approach

Sambatek is proud to be a key partner in the exciting Olive Street Apartment Development project in Waconia, Minnesota. Construction crews have already removed thousands of yards of earth in preparation for the project, and the official groundbreaking took place on February 24. This half-block mixed-use residential and retail development will deliver a modern five-story building that will blend seamlessly with the historic character of Waconia’s downtown area. The 92-unit apartment complex will include nearly 4,300 square feet of commercial space, and the anticipated completion date for the project is spring 2026.

The building’s façade will feature red and Chaska brick, mirroring the style of nearby historic structures. The design is inspired by the area’s rich architectural history. Sambatek’s scope of work on this project is comprehensive, covering engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services to ensure that every aspect of the development meets the highest standards.

Sambatek will or has already provided comprehensive engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services for the Olive Street Apartment project in Waconia. Our scope of work includes conducting an existing conditions survey to gather essential data for entitlement and construction plans and preparing a final subdivision plat that meets city, county, and state requirements. During the concept phase, we will work closely with the project team to review the site plan and identify potential constraints. Preliminary design documents will be developed in the subsequent phase, such as the site plan, grading and utility plans, stormwater management report, and landscape plan.

In the final design phase, Sambatek will refine the plans based on city feedback and submit them for approval, ensuring that construction documents comply with local requirements. We will also assist with permit applications and respond to any agency comments. Sambatek will attend key meetings throughout the project, provide construction administration services, and support the team with any necessary revisions or clarifications. Our goal is to ensure the successful execution of this multi-use residential and retail development project, from surveys through construction.
