Minnetonka, Minn. – Sambatek proudly announces Tony Schrempp’s addition as the new Director of Construction Services. Tony joined the team on October 21, 2024, bringing a wealth of leadership and technical expertise in managing large-scale construction projects.
With 18 years of professional experience, Tony has held various leadership roles, including his most recent position as the Construction Division Manager at Hennepin County. He successfully oversaw a team of more than 50 professionals and managed a capital improvement construction program of over $100 million in construction contracts in 2024. Tony holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). His extensive experience includes working on significant interchange projects, highway reconstructions, project controls, and scheduling.

Before joining Sambatek, Tony began his career at MnDOT, where he participated in the graduate engineer rotation program and gained experience in various design, construction, and traffic divisions. After MnDOT, Tony joined C.S. McCrossan, where he led projects in their structures division, including contributing to the Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT) project. Tony then moved to Ramsey County as a Project Manager, specializing in developing and preserving the county’s pavement assets before taking on his most recent role at Hennepin County.
In his new role at Sambatek, Tony will oversee the Construction Services team, focusing on delivering complex transportation and public/private construction projects. He will be responsible for managing project execution, guiding teams through critical tasks, and fostering client relationships to ensure Sambatek’s continued success in the industry.
