Sambatek overcame several site design challenges to help Holiday Stationstores, a recognized leader in the convenience store industry, utilize this high-traffic intersection in Coon Rapids for a convenience store and gas station. Before construction, we prepared grading plans that included a soil surcharge plan and using tire chips as lightweight fill. The surcharge was in place several years before construction to reduce the long-term settlement of the underlying organic soils. The site design also included storage tanks for recycling car wash water and an underground storage area for stormwater infiltration.
