Here at Sambatek, we believe in strengthening our communities, as well as giving back to the places in which we live, work, and play. Community engagement has been at the core of our organization from the very beginning, and we strive toward building a better community that will be enjoyed for years to come.
This year we teamed up with The Opus Group on a beautiful September weekend to take on the property of a deserving homeowner in Minneapolis for another successful Hearts & Hammers Day! We had a fantastic group of volunteers working together on a variety of renovations. Projects included painting the house’s exterior, mending fences, and cleaning up stairs and walkways. We also had a wonderful group of individuals working hard in the backyard building a new retaining wall.
The new retaining wall now separates a slope from a flat area of the yard, which allowed us to add new plants on top of the slope. One of our in-house Landscape Architects, Bill Delaney, put together the layout for the wall and lead our volunteers in completing this task.
It was a rewarding experience to be able to have a positive impact in our local community. Working collaboratively, we were able to achieve great results and finish ahead of schedule!
The homeowner was truly astonished by the transformation of her home and was deeply grateful for everyone’s hard work. She was delighted to see that we even trimmed back some of her tree branches, allowing for more sunlight to hit her yard. She’s looking forward to having a sunnier and more inviting yard for her daycare kids to enjoy.
It was our pleasure fixing up this home for such a deserving homeowner. We look forward to our next Hearts & Hammers Day!
